Last week Claire and Justin ventured out to the south of France for their first work trip of the year to visit Jean-Luc Colombo and AIX…

“First stop was Jean-Luc’s Blue coast winery amongst the natural reserve just north of Carry Le Rouet. Beautiful purple irises covered the rugged, beautiful landscape and it was impressive to see tiny pockets of vineyards planted amongst the scrubland. Keep an eye out for his wonderful new red wine Petit Loup, made from counoise. Lovely fruity and fresh, with low alcohol.

On we drove to Maison Saint Aix in the hills north of Aix-en-Provence, a good 5 or 6 degrees cooler at 400masl. AIX 2022 is for me one of the best wines they have produced so far, and we certainly enjoyed a glass or two over a typical Provencal lunch.”
