Yesterday, some of the Mentzendorff team took part in celebrating Earth day that will officially take place tomorrow (April 22nd) throughout the world.

To take part in this important day, we enjoyed an educational quiz that initiated conversation amongst the team about ways in which we can save our planet. Well done Mark for winning the prize of a pot of Bermondsey Bees Honey!

Earth Day takes place every year on 22nd of April and marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. The celebration of Earth Day is intended to raise awareness about environmental issues such as climate change, deforestation, pollution and the depletion of natural resources. It is a time for individuals and communities to come together to discuss these issues, take action and advocate policy changes that will benefit our planet.

Yesterday, we found out some shocking and surprising facts about our industry’s impact on the planet as well as general information that each of us can learn from.

In an attempt to be as ‘eco-friendly’ as possible, we encouraged members of the team to bring in some treats to add to the afternoon tea but using only foods that were already in cupboards and/or foods that would have alternatively been thrown out. This was also an attempt to reduce packaging.
