Sustainability

At Mentzendorff, we are committed to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact, whilst also working with brands that are aligned with our CSR values. Most recently, Champagne Bollinger has become B-Corp Certified, a huge achievement not only for the brand but also for the wider Groupe Bollinger family.

We’ve also been working hard on our CSR Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy, with a focus on our three pillars: People, Environment and Community. Our CSR programme has challenged the company to fulfil ambitious carbon objectives aligned with business growth, while also pushing the team to participate in initiatives at the core of our business, such as charitable endeavours and wellbeing of our staff.

The first pillar in our company strategy is ‘People’. We are striving to develop a culture and environment in which employees and happy, safe and engaged.

CSR Team Champions represent their respective departments across the business, while driving strategies and bringing new ideas to the table. They also run our ‘wellbeing charter’ which includes mental health training for all staff, weekly yoga, social tennis and a book club.

As part of our ‘People’ strategy, we have introduced a Personal Development plan for each employee to nurture talent and encourage growth. We encourage all employees to partake in WSET training and enable them to pursue further professional qualifications specific to their role.

To maintain employee satisfaction and engagement, Mentzendorff also participate in the ‘Great Place to Work scheme’, ensuring our employees can have their say.

Our Second Pillar

Environment

Our second pillar is ‘Environment’. An essential element to supporting this pillar was to complete our baseline Carbon Footprint for 2022 and create short and long-term targets for 2023 and beyond.

Mentzendorff’s Mission: Environment and Sustainability to be at the heart of all strategic and operational decision making across the business.

Our office energy supplier is 100% renewable, and we use responsible, recyclable packaging where possible.

Our employees are trained on our CSR initiatives and from 2024, all employees will undergo Carbon Literacy Training to ensure, we fully understand the actions we are taking and why we are taking them.

We encourage a collaborative and active approach to improve the supply chain and best practices between Mentzendorff and our suppliers.

Our third Pillar

The charity offers vital assistance to those who work or have worked within hospitality in the UK.

The Felix Project is our second chosen charity which we have actively supported as a team.
