Founded in 1900 by Aimée and Hubert Brochard in Chavignol, Domaine Hubert Brochard has been committed from one generation to the next, in producing wines representative of the diversity of the Sancerre terroirs.
In a nutshell: In July 2022, Domaine Hubert Brochard was acquired by the Bollinger family group bringing a new adventure and possibilities, alongside the support and expertise of Maison Langlois in Saumur. With a new dynamic team, led by Rodrigo Zamorano as winemaker, the Sancerre wines of Hubert Brochard highlight an affirmed expertise in Sancerre Terroirs. Domaine Hubert Brochard has a presence on the three terroirs of Sancerre; silex, calcaire and caillotes, and have vineyards spread across 83 ha of land. This now makes Hubert Brochard one the of largest vineyard owners in Sancerre.
With a new brand identity in 2024, the Domaine now has a vision that from diversity comes uniqueness and precisely reveals the nuances and richness of Sancerre terroirs. Hubert Brochard has access to some of the best terroir in the region, including special plots in Les Monts Damnés and Le Cul de Beaujeu.
The terroir: Domaine Hubert Brochard has 83 hectares of vineyard holdings located across Sancerre. Château de Fontaine-Audon is located in the north on Silex soils, Château de Thauvenay in the south with Calcaire soils and at Vignoble de Chavignol the vineyards are planted upon Caillotes. Aware of the impact of its activity, Domaine Hubert Brochard produces wines with an environmentally-friendly approach and a social and societal commitment; as such, one third of the vineyard entered into organic conversion in 2022.
The Hubert Brochard ‘personality’: Domaine Hubert Brochard has a deep commitment to Sancerre, the richness of the terroirs, the variety of styles and personalities, the meeting of cultures and know-how, which allows us to (re) discover the subtleties of the appellation.
