News straight from Cornas this week that the harvest is well underway. We hear from Marie, the new Maitre de Chef at Domaine Colombo:

“The harvest Seasons began on August 28th, with the picking of organic Grenache in the South for our Lili Jolie 2024. This Grenache reveals lovely, rich red fruit on this vintage, thanks to a sunny end of the season, while retaining a delightful crunchiness and freshness, with hints of citrus and lemon aromas. On September 4th, the Mourvèdre, which took more time to reach maturity, brought a blackcurrant and floral bouquet to the Lili Jolie 2024. This vintage requires a lot of patience and thoughtfulness to ensure the grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness.

On September 6th, we harvested the Mourvèdre and Cournoise for our Petit Loup 2024. Once again, we had to wait for fine, discreet tannins and fresh fruit to ensure that our Petit Loup remains light and full of fruits.

As for the Clairette used in the Anthénors 2024, recent rains will allow the grapes to ripen for a bit longer and soak up more sun while waiting for the perfect moment to be harvested.

We are working to make the best of this year, which has been quite complex, but it gives us the opportunity to carefully review each vine and closely monitor them, providing last-minute care as needed”.
