Last week Anna and Claire took two journalists to visit Langlois in Saumur. The team pulled out all the stops to make for an incredible visit. The trip consisted of a tour of the winery, cellars (4km of natural caves) and vineyard at Clos St Florent that is now 100% certified organic.

In the evening, they were treated to a picnic dinner on a traditional Loire boat, whilst admiring the mirror-still waters of the river. They even saw a Kingfisher and a Beaver, which was very exciting. The next day they visited the Saumur-Champigny vineyards followed by a personalised tour of the Cadre Noir, one of four global horse schools of excellence. They were lucky to see a few of the Olympian athletes making their final preparations for the games in Paris.

Last stop, a vineyard lunch with the view of Saumur Castle and the Loire River, and the light rain did not stop them from having a great time. Langlois not only make superb, highly complex Cremants, but they also know how to entertain.
