Andrew Hawes, Justin Liddle and Alan Montague-Dennis from Mentzendorff joined Brunello di Montalcino producer Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona and 3,000 other riders for the Eroica Montalcino at the end of May this year.

Team Ciacci!

The Eroica Montalcino covers the white roads south of the enchanting city of Siena between the Val d’Arbia, the Crete Senesi and the Val D’Orcia. The ride is a challenging 100 kilometres on the ancient “Strade Bianche” roads of Tuscany all on Vintage Racing Bikes (pre-1987) and seeing an impressive 1,850m gain in elevation. This was made even more demanding by the rain which turned the 57km of historic white gravel roads into an even more treacherous roadway!

Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona, owned and run by ex-professional cyclist Paolo Bianchini, was proud to be one of the events Sponsors.
